A hiking trip in the forest is never complete without encountering a woodpecker. But if you see a pileated woodpecker, then the hiking trip becomes a treat. Seeing a pair of these black and white flying wonders gives me a happy feeling. The hammering sound they make on the bark of dead trees has fascinated me since my childhood. To me this sound represents the spirit of the forest. - Carl Brenders
